Shell announced that it will focus on public charging piles. It is expected that the number of public charging terminals worldwide will increase to 200,000 by 2030, compared with currently only 54,000.

In November last year, Shell China Chairman Chen Lin stated at a media communication conference that the 25,000 charging stations operated by Shell in China in the third quarter of that year had achieved positive cash flow. Chen Lin said that Shell is more focused on creating more value for its charging pile business in China and currently has no quantitative plans.
In addition, in February this year, BYD reached a strategic partnership with Raízen Power, a Brazilian energy company owned by Shell, and plans to build BYD-Shell electric vehicle charging centers in eight major cities in Brazil in the next three years. The two parties will jointly expand Brazil's public charging network, planning to build 600 new DC charging piles and add 18 megawatts of installed capacity to further meet the energy replenishment needs of local new energy vehicles.
Shell operates a retail network of more than 2,800 travel service stations (including approximately 2,000 gas stations and approximately 800 independent electric vehicle charging stations) in China through joint ventures and wholly-owned enterprises, and has 25,000 public electric vehicle charging terminals. .
