Dead Burned Magnesite (DBM)
Product Description:
DBM is a fine ground, yellow to brown powder composed of dead burnt magnesite (magnesium oxide). It is manufactured by calcining a high purity natural magnesite. Its addition provides oil & gas well-cementing slurries with sufficient expansion to ensure zonal isolation and excellent bonding between the cement and the casing. DBM has been specifically tailored for oil & gas well cementing as it does not affect the rheological behavior or setting time of the cement.
DBM produces a higher amount of expansion compared to an industry reference composed of 99% dead burnt magnesite (more than 8 times the expansion in 10 days). DBM has been developed for temperatures above 85°C and provides a wider range of dosages without excessive expansion.
Applications:
DBM is used as an expansion additive in oil well cementing to provide sufficient expansion of the cement, ideal for use in high temperatures. It can be used in manufacturing refractory materials and bricks. End products are applied in steelification ramming lining.
Packaging:
Material is available in 25 kg bags and 1000 kg bulk bags. Further packaging options may be available upon inquiry.
Storage:
The product should be stored in a dry place in sealed, original packaging away from direct sunlight. Shelf life is 12 months
from manufacturing date if stored in the above conditions.
