Minnesota Public Radio News reports that Maryland-based Total Wine & More and Target are the newest rivals seeking to grab a share of the state's alcohol sales. The two companies are following the footsteps of many grocery chains and big discount retailers.
Total Wine opened its first Minnesota location about six months ago in Roseville. Store manager Derek Hopper says it draws customers from across the state, and even Wisconsin and Canada.
Steve Burwell, who owns a smaller liquor store about a third of a mile away, says he's worried his store and others may be forced to close.
