Mezzanines

If it’s time to take your warehouse to the next level, it might be time to consider a mezzanine system. Mezzanine platforms are a cost-effective way to double or triple your floor space through the addition of overhead space. For example, most warehouse logistic teams agree that maximizing space is one of the biggest concerns for operations. This includes having an office within that space. Well, that can be solved through modular offices or mezzanine offices that are built directly into your existing warehouse space.

Industrial mezzanines are a perfect solution to growth requirements. Everything Warehouse has new and used mezzanine systems that can be customized and installed for all your warehouse needs.

What is a Mezzanine Platform?

A warehouse mezzanine system is an elevated floor/platform installed between the floor and ceiling with stairways leading to different levels of the mezzanine or the top of the structure. Many of these are free-standing steel structures that can be taken apart and moved easily.

Mezzanines are an effective way to solve floor space clutter by utilizing the overhead space in your warehouse. If you feel like you’re “outgrowing” your facility, a mezzanine is a great solution to increasing your space without having to move.

Types of Mezzanines Floors

Although stainless steel mezzanines are the most common, there are several different types of mezzanines to choose from.

Free Standing Mezzanines

Freestanding steel mezzanines are also known as work platforms. They require no construction and rely only on their components for support. Structural columns provide support while column protectors can also be used for increased safety.

Building Support Mezzanines

If you have a building that can support additional loads, it can be used to support a mezzanine. The mezzanine is supported partly by the building structure and partly by columns.

Rack Supported Mezzanines

If you’re looking for more than just extra space, rack supported mezzanines create levels of usable storage racks. The rack system must be able to support additional loads and catwalks can be installed for added mobility by warehouse employees.

Shelving Supported Mezzanines

If you need to store smaller items, a shelf supported mezzanine is an option. Much of the bolt-less shelving is placed on or extended through the mezzanine. Employees will be able to easily access products through the walkways and ladders can be added to the top of the mezzanine.

Advantages of Mezzanines

If your business is growing, there are many advantages to adding a mezzanine floor to your warehouse, including:

  • Utilizes existing overhead space
  • Prefabricated stairs and accessories to ease the installation
  • Can easily support conveyor systems, equipment parts or products
  • Increases storage space
  • Provides easy access for material handling
  • Can easily be relocated at a later date

By installing a mezzanine, you will save on the cost and inconvenience of moving to a new property.
