The name says it all, doesn't it? King. Someone has to be. Going straight to the top and asking for the best off-road scooters in the world will land you here. The King is an update of the already brilliant Wolf GT Pro and it takes a trained eye to spot the differences. Riding them will make you feel it though.

The first sign upon seeing it, telling you that this is a rough terrain off-road electric scooter to be taken seriously, is the double stem motorcycle-grade hydraulic front shock absorbers.

A standout feature not only for its looks but also for performance. We are used to single stems on electric scooters and now we have this.

This is a heavy-duty electric scooter that will tackle off-road rides, crush hills with a grin and at scary speed as well. And that front fork with a relatively stiff set up dual rear spring suspension will make you feel sure-footed while doing so. It has excellent stability either on rough roads or on smooth surfaces. In fact, super stable.

This is as well as it should be considering this is the fastest production scooter for sale at the time of writing. The maximum speed you can get out of it is 62 mph (100 km/h). Upgraded sinewave controllers, dual 2000W/7200W peak power motors and a bigger 72V 35Ah battery are the power plant that produces all this performance. Acceleration is crazy if not scary and it will spin its' front and rear wheel regardless of the surface if you are not careful. It takes less than four seconds to reach 30 mph (48 km/h).

Recharging time is 13-15 hours or 5 hours with the use of an optional fast charger.

It might feel a bit intimidating with all that power under your thumb but the throttle curve is well mapped and you can keep it all under control. Or just choose the single motor mode for the starts. Easy done with buttons underneath your thumb. A longer stem and wider handlebars than the regular Wolf Warrior further enhance the feeling of stability.

But remember, you have to treat this King with respect and know your riding technique.

And you can travel very far on a single charge. In single motor mode and on the eco setting you should get 90 miles (144 km).

Front and rear fully hydraulic Zoom disc brakes as well as regenerative braking and ABS are on par with the rest of the performance of the scooter. It has astonishing stopping power. It only takes 9 feet (3 m) from 15 mph (24 km/h) to a complete stop.

Make sure you know how to brake properly and how to balance your body. Bend your knees, lean slightly backwards and stand with your feet as you would on a snowboard or a regular skateboard. One foot in front of the other. Never ever ride with your feet parallel. On any type of scooter.

Self-repairing 11-inch tubeless might sound like a pipedream but they do self-repair, which comes in handy on such a heavy-duty electric scooter.

The King is for the rider who knows what he wants and how to control it. It weighs 120 lbs (54 kg) so will not be an everyday commuter you bring on public transport. Think alternative to motorcycle yet still more practical.

The King is as good as it gets when it comes to powerful electric scooters with high build quality that can handle off-road rides with ease. It is the best offroad electric scooter at the time of writing.

PROS

  • Extreme power & top speed

  • Off road & road tires available

  • Motorcycle graded dual suspension
